Tribute to 'jolly fryer' as much-loved chippie owner dies

TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved family man who was known for running fish and chip shops in Huddersfield.

Geoff Price, of Linthwaite, Huddersfield, who has died aged 79, was a father-of-three and grandfather-of-six who was known for his sense of humour and selfless nature.

He was also a hard worker, buying his first chippie, Park Road Fisheries in Crosland Moor, in 1991 after he was made redundant from his job at textile manufacturer Bower Roebuck.
