Town defender Sean Roughan has reflected on a ‘very tough’ spell following a lack of game time in recent months.Roughan began the season by starting ten of Town's opening 15 matches of the campaign in all competitions, during the months of August and September.

In October and November, the 22-year-old was limited to making just one start in nine fixtures in all competitions, in his side's EFL Trophy victory over Mansfield Town, as Ruben Roosken put together a run of games in the left-back position.

Roughan has since started three out of Town’s four fixtures so far this month, against Lincoln City, Northampton Town and Wigan Athletic.

The defender was ever-present for Lincoln prior to making his summer switch to Town, with Roughan featuring 149 times for the Imps across the last three campaigns, including playing every minute of the League One season last term.
