TOY SHOP OWNER'S PRIDE AT BEING UP FOR REWARD BUT FOOTFALL ISSUES STILL A BIG CONCERN

- By ANDREW ROBINSON

THE owner of a Holmfirth shop has described the town as “very quiet” despite a welcome boost from the recent Food and Drink Festival.

Maggie Tibbenham of Imagine Toy Shop in Holmfirth town centre is currently celebrating reaching the finals of the UK Small Business Awards in the Small Business Category, but the ongoing and well-documented footfall issues are never far from her thoughts.

Two Holmfirth businesses have closed for good this year and put some of the blame on the ongoing roadworks scheme.
