A DEVASTATED family has paid tribute to a man who died when he was struck by a falling tree branch.

Much-loved dad of two Paul Whitehead was killed on Sunday afternoon in Upper Dearne Woodlands in Upper Cumberworth, near Huddersfield.

His heartbroken son, Simon, described his dad as a devoted father and a loving husband who strived to make the world a better place.

He said: “He was loving husband to Joyce Whitehead, married happily for 53 years, and a devoted father to both his son and daughter.
