DISTURBING CCTV footage has captured the moment an asylum seeker stalked his victim through the streets before he strangled and sexually assaulted her.
Fawaz Alsamaou, from Lockwood, Huddersfield, targeted his victim, leading to a horrific assault under a city centre bridge on 12 May 2024, Newport Crown Court heard during a sentencing hearing on Friday.
The footage released by South Wales Police shows Alsamaou, 33, nonchalantly wandering around Pulse nightclub in Cardiff, an LGBTQ+ venue, dressed in a gilet, white T-shirt and jeans.
He is seen scanning the club near the entrance and cloakroom before making his way onto the bustling dance floor.
