Work starts on £1.8m leisure centre upgrade

WORK has started on Saltash Leisure Centre, with new areas and updated facilities planned as part of an £1.8m project.
Work includes creating space for the Saltash registrar service, a safe and well hub and meeting and work areas for Cornwall Council officers and members.
Wet and dry changing rooms will be updated, a new reception and concierge point installed, and the cafe and public areas refurbished.
The contract has been awarded to Plymouth-based Obedair Construction, with completion expected in early 2026. The leisure centre will remain open throughout.
The leisure centre is run by not-for-profit workers' cooperative GLL on behalf of the Council.
