THE post-fight interview live in DAZN might have been typically modest for Constantin Ursu, but the moment he raised his new WBO European welterweight belt said it all.

Ursu's reputation continues to grow after landing new belt

THE spotlight interviews like DAZN might have been slightly daunting at first, but Ryan is relishing his new WBO European & Commonwealth Welterweight titles

(GEORGE TEWKESBURY/TOP TIER BOXING)

Having outpointed Ryan Amos over 12 rounds at London's York Hall on Sunday night, to both defend his Commonwealth Gold welterweight title and win the vacant WBO crown, Ursu was presented with the WBO belt and held it above his head and roared with delight.

It was a rare show of emotion from Ursu, who told post-fight interviewers his performance was ‘OK’ having battering his opponent for the last few rounds without securing a stoppage.

For Ursu, it felt like a European title - with the British title showdown to come before the end of March next year - is justification for the road he has taken over the last seven years in Plymouth, overcoming plenty of obstacles along the way.
