Spot on Tavistock progress in Trophy

TAVISTOCK are through to the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy after winning an epic penalty shootout against Southern League Division one South rivals Larkhall Athletic.

It looked as though the Lambs would be exiting the competition when they trailed to Sam Boulton’s 30th minute strike, but with time running out, Rhys Lindsell tapped in from Kieran Edworthy's cross to level things up and send the tie to a penalty shootout.

After seven successive spot kicks, Max Williams struck the bar with Larkhall’s fourth kick, leaving Ben Cross with the chance to win the gamer for Tavi, but he blasted his effort over the bar.

Tavi were successful with their next three and when Asa White sent his effort over the bar, that was enough to send the Lambs into the hat for today’s lunchtime draw.
