Phillips' 66 leads her to first place at St Mellion

WENDY Phillips was the winner of the Medal and Stableford Winners Trophy with her excellent net score of 66.
That was seven shots better than runner-up Karen Cook with Sam Peach three shots further back in third, on countback from Debbie Flanagan.
Hilda McKinley and Cathryn Braithwaite took the Ping Fourball Better ball competition with their score of 44 points.
Karen Ford and Pam Hughes were runners-up with 42 points.
The winners may qualify for the national finals at Thurrock Park Lincolnshire to be played later this year.
McKinley was also successful in the Wednesday stableford with her total of 31 points enough for her to take first place.
Ford finished second with 29 points with Roxy Smith third on countback from Mary Brinsley with 26 points.
Viv Kessack was the winner of the nine-hole stableford with a total of 14 points. That was one better than runner-up Carole Webb, with Jacqui Tett third on countback.
After her two runners-up finished, Cook finally finished first in the weekend stableford. Sam Peach was second with Cheryl Bridgeman third and Evelyn Postles fourth. Esta historia es de la edición July 06, 2024 de The Herald.
