MCPHEE STRUGGLES TO EXPLAIN HIS TEAM'S SEVEN-GOAL DEFEAT

- By STUART JAMES

PLYMOUTH Parkway manager Chris McPhee said his side were in for a very important seven days after their pummelling at Poole Town - and is demanding a response in Saturday's Southern League Premier Division clash at home to Gosport Borough.

After the disappointment of losing the Devon derby to two late Tiverton Town goals, a result McPhee felt was their most disappointing of the season, worse followed a week later as they were humbled 7-0 by a rampant Dolphins side that scored five of those goals in the second half.

There has been plenty of head scratching since, with a clearly hurt McPhee saying he and his players had let everyone down. But in football, there is always that chance of redemption - and that is what he and his players must do on their return to Bolitho Park this weekend.
