Park to be closed 'for months'

A PLYMOUTH park will be closed for four months as works to reduce flooding and add basketball court are completed.

The Trefusis Park Flood Relief Scheme will see the addition of seasonal wetland basins to help reduce the risk of flooding to homes and businesses in the local area by safely storing water during heavy rainfall.

Kier Integrated Services Limited (Kier) have been appointed as the main contractor and they will begin work on site on Monday April 28.

The path linking Compton Vale to Old Laira Road will remain open through the duration of the works, as will the woodland paths leading to Carlton Close and Channel Park Avenue.
