THE home dugout at Langsford Park will have a very different and unfamiliar look from now after it was confirmed this week that Tavistock had parted company with their long-serving manager Stuart Henderson.

Lambs part company with boss Henderson

Stuart Henderson has left Tavistock AFC after nearly ten years in charge

(DAVE CRAWFORD)

After almost ten years in charge of the Lambs, Henderson and Tavi decided it was right for both parties to go their separate ways, along with his assistant manager, Darren Spong, following a 2-1 defeat at Swindon Supermarine, which left the Lambs bottom of Southern League Division One South and 15 points adrift of safety.

While this has undoubtedly been a tough season for both Henderson and Tavistock, few can deny the achievements of the departed boss, whose CV includes two promotions, two league titles, Cup runs and other notable scalps and successes at Langsford Park.

Speaking at the end of a golden era for the club, Henderson said: “Spending ten years at Tavistock AFC has been a period of dedicated service, hard work and shared achievement. I began this journey working alongside Ken Ord as my assistant and over the past three seasons, I have been supported by Darren Spong. I thank them both sincerely for their loyalty, commitment and support throughout.
