Hotel's upgrades lift hygiene rating

17TH CENTURY VENUE HAS TOP SCORE AFTER WORK
ONE of Plymouth's most opulent and historic hotels - and a favourite of celebrity Peter Andre - is celebrating after receiving a top food hygiene rating.
The 17th Century St Elizabeth's House Hotel, at Plympton, was rocked when it received a rating of just two and was told to improve in October. But following a re-inspection it has been awarded the highest rating of five.
Duncan Murray, general manager at the Grade II listed Georgian country house, said it is the highest rating the restaurant and functions venue has had since 2018.
He said staff and the business' owner were delighted as they had put in a lot of work to gain the top accreditation.
