Gladiators replace Trigger with Klima

PLYMOUTH Gladiators have shown they are not in the Championship just to make up the numbers by making a significant change at reserve and bring in Czech sensation Daniel Klima to the Coliseum.

- By STUART JAMES

The 22-year-old arrives in the Westcountry on a 4.00 average and will partner Australian Mitchell Cluff in the bottom two spots in the team with Ben Trigger the unfortunate one to miss out.

Trigger will continue to ride for the Plymouth Centurions, but the arrival of Klima is a significant boost to the club's ambitions of reaching the play-offs. He is now set to debut for the Gladiators in Saturday's home Championship meeting with Scunthorpe Scorpions.

"We have seen in recent weeks that we can be strong and competitive at home against any Championship team, however we have been lacking some firepower on the road, especially on some of the bigger and faster tracks," promoter Mark Phillips said.

Older drivers tend to be the safest on the road

REGARDING recent newspaper reports about compulsory eye tests for the over-70s, as we have to renew our licences every three years anyway, I really cannot see that this will be a problem for most people of that age.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Although I am well aware that social media is largely an echo chamber that will feed back to you what you search for, there are no shortage of videos and articles about fashionable dressing for men, while vintage clothing is no longer merely bagged up and donated to charity shops but can yield high prices on re-sale sites such as eBay and Vinted.
