THE first Kernowfornia Festival - due to happen later this month at the beautiful historic fishing port of Looe - offers a weekend of original music from internationally renowned artists as well as some of the very best of the local scene.

Get ready for the first Kernowfornia

"We wanted to produce a festival that features fresh music that is heartfelt and impactful," says founder Jonathan Stafford, also lead singer with local art rock band Haunt the Woods. “We have musicians performing in a very eclectic mix of styles, but the one thing they have in common is that the music is authentic, emotive and original and hopefully everyone will get the vibe - it's not about just getting drunk in a field!

“We are delighted to have Marillion headlining the main stage on Friday night,” continues Jonathan. “We've gigged with them on several occasions and they do their own Marillion Festival all over Europe but I’m not sure that they've played at any others for years, so we're really lucky to get them.”

Also appearing with Marillion on the Friday are Embrace and The Magic Numbers, as well as Jon’s band Haunt the Woods, Wille and the Bandits, Pure Reason Revolution, Lesoir and Harvey James.
