A TORPOINT community college will freeze its recruitment for Year 12 students in September, it has been confirmed.

- By BRITTA ZELTMANN

Torpoint Community College, whose Sixth Form offers a range of subjects for students at A-level, said the decision was due to a “very low take up”.

It's understood the move will not impact current Year 12 students, who will continue to Year 13 in September.

When asked about the situation, the college’s headteacher Dr Jeremy Plumb, said: “The difficult decision has been made to freeze recruitment for Year 12 this September at Torpoint Community College due to a very low take up.

“The Sixth Form will continue as normal for its current Year 12 students to ensure they can complete their studies through to the end of Year 13 in summer 2027.
