Bomb experts in honours list

PAIR WHO DEALT WITH WW2 DEVICE IN KEYHAM RECOGNISED
TWO divers who safely dealt with a WW2 bomb which brought much of Plymouth to a standstill last year have been honoured by The King.
Petty Officers Craig Maddock and Paul Cartwright showed both bravery and cool heads when a wartime bomb was unearthed in Keyham, in February 2024. They have been singled out for bravery awards in Operational Honours announced jointly with His Majesty's Birthday Honours.
In total, 32 sailors and Royal Marines have been decorated for deeds and commitment on the front line, to the safety and security of the UK, and to charity.
