Argyle to give Tolaj as long as possible for County

PLYMOUTH Argyle will leave a decision on whether Lorent Tolaj is fit to play in the away League One game against Stockport County on Saturday for 'as long as possible, head coach Tom Cleverley has declared.

Tolaj, Argyle’s 15-goal top scorer this season, was ruled out of the 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town at Home Park on Tuesday night because he had a dead leg.

Cleverley said: "It will be a balance of does the travel and everything set him back and it’s too much of a risk, or have we got a real chance of him being on the bench or even starting?"

Inform Argyle striker Bim Pepple scored his fourth goal in the last seven games against Mansfield but, as Cleverley acknowledged, Tolaj is one of the most dangerous forwards in the division.

Cleverley said: "I don’t think any defender in the league would be happy to see Lorent Tolaj so we might take Tolly and not make the decision until Saturday morning.

"It just all depends on the pain threshold, the swelling and things like that. It is genuinely a decision we will leave as long as possible to make."

Another striker, Owen Oseni, and left-back Jack MacKenzie were added to Argyle’s squad against Mansfield after recovering from injuries.

Owen Dale was not included among the substitutes after overcoming his recent ankle issue but he is also available for selection for the game at Stockport.
