Albion's perfect start is ended after tough day at Rosslyn Park
The Herald
|October 06, 2025
PLYMOUTH Albion crashed to their first defeat of the season as they saw their 100 percent winning start to the campaign ended by Rosslyn Park.
It was a top of the table clash between two sides that had remained unbeaten since the start of the season, both teams boasting four wins and maximum points, so something had to give. Unfortunately, it was Albion's perfect start as they slipped down to fourth place with this defeat.
Last season the two teams enjoyed two close fought battles, both ending up in favour of Rosslyn and prior to the fixture Albion head coach Ryan Lamb was well aware of just how tough the fixture was going to be.
A healthy number of spectators were on hand to witness the match, including several traveling Albion fans who made the long journey to Priory Lane and despite their hopes of a successful trip, it was the home side that got off to an electric start.
Just two minutes into the game, Charles Piper scored the first try for Rosslyn to give them a 5-O lead. The score remained the same after the conversion attempt was missed and again until two minutes from the end of the first half.
