A surreal experience for winners

ARTWORK by more 260 children from across the South West has gone on display at The Box after they won a competition.

Entries were invited from young artists inspired by surrealism and landscape.

The new Surreal Estates exhibition includes two winning entries from young people from Plymouth.

The partnership between The Box and Arts University Plymouth connects with the Forbidden Territories: 100 Years of Surreal Landscapes exhibition, which runs until September 7 and features a wide range of work by some of the most influential artistic and literary figures of the 1900s.

Surreal Estates encouraged children and young people from across the region to submit work in any medium, as long as it used a surrealist technique such as collage or photomontage. Entries were open in four different categories: Early Years, Primary, Secondary and 18-25.
