£150k for city social enterprise projects

HELPING TO IMPROVE BOTH WILDLIFE AND WELLBEING
THREE social enterprise projects which operate in Plymouth and the South Hams have been given £150,000 for a scheme which helps biodiversity and also provides low-income families with free, healthy food.
The National Lottery Climate Action Fund has awarded the sum for the ‘Abundant Life’ initiative, which brings together established social enterprises Common Flora, Pollenize and Food in Community.
The goal of the scheme is to reverse what organisers say is an alarming decline in pollinators and healthy soil by working with a range of people, from farmers to low-income families, affected by the cost of living crisis.
