Portugal rallies to try to keep far-right Ventura from power

Portuguese voters will return to the polls tomorrow for the final round of a presidential election that has been marked by a push to keep the far-right candidate at bay and overshadowed by the deadly storms that have lashed the country in recent days.
The moderate leftwing candidate António José Seguro won the first round of the election, which was held on 18 January, taking 31.1% of the vote. He will be facing André Ventura, the leader of the far-right party Chega - now the second largest party in parliament - who took 23.5% of the vote in the first round.
