Barclays Says IT Glitch That Locked Out Customers Is Fixed

Barclays said it had fixed an IT glitch yesterday that left thousands of customers locked out of their accounts on Friday and Saturday, and promised to compensate them for any losses incurred.
The bank said customers could use its payment apps and online services, although some still faced a wait yesterday to check their balances and payment history.
It said the fault—which led to payment problems, with some customers even reporting that house moves had fallen through—had been a "technical issue" rather than being due to a cyber-attack or any malicious activity.
