Wafer not ready for Irish decider

RUGBY UNION Aoife Wafer has not been included in Ireland's squad for Sunday's World Cup pool decider against defending champions New Zealand, while head coach Scott Bemand has made six changes.

Bemand said on Thursday that Six Nations player of the tournament Wafer was “bursting to go” as she closes in on a return to action following knee surgery.
However, the 22-year-old's full recovery is being closely monitored and Bemand has opted not to throw her into a crunch match after she sat out Ireland's Pool C wins against Japan and Spain.
