Twins sentenced to four years each for brutal street attack

TWIN brothers attacked a man leaving him bloodied and unconscious in the street - before stepping over his unconscious body and running off.

Leon Bayat attacked the man outside a property on Hartington Road, in Stockton, on April 7 this year.

As he punched, kicked and stamped on the man, having originally attacked him with a metal pole, Leon was joined by his twin brother Lewis Bayat.

Teesside Crown Court heard how the victim, who has not assisted police with the prosecution, was knocked unconscious. The pair, walked back into the accommodation, grabbing an extra item of clothing each before they stepped over their victim and made off from the scene.

Both Leon and Lewis, aged 20, admitted attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
