A TEESSIDE football club has been honoured with the Club Impact Award for Community Club of the Year in a ceremony at Wembley.
Vicki Burton, 34, is vice-chairman of Norton & Stockton Ancients FC, and also heads up the women and girls’ section at the club, making significant strides in youth and women’s football over the past eleven years.
Starting with just one junior girls’ team at Norton and one ladies’ team, she and her husband, Chris Burton, laid the foundation for a thriving football community.
Vicki said: "We aimed to create girls’ teams for every age group, with coaching led by players and coaches from the ladies’ teams."
Through dedication and hard work, they have successfully expanded to 11 junior girls’ teams for ages 6 to 16, alongside a women’s first team and a reserve team.
