Noise and 'swamp' complaints about pond

RESIDENTS have complained about noise from a water pumping system associated with a SUDs (sustainable drainage system) pond on a new housing development being constructed on the outskirts of Marske, with local councillor Dr Tristan Learoyd saying the noise was akin to a “fax machine”.

Cllr Learoyd also said the pond, or basin, created for drainage purposes at the Miller Homes/Taylor Wimpey site, just south of Marske, off Longbeck Road, was unsightly and likened it to a “swamp”.
