Merson surprise guest at club's awards night

A TEESSIDE grassroots football club has welcomed Paul Merson to their club.
The England, Arsenal and Boro star and TV pundit surprised players at Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick Football Club (TIBS) on Friday, June 7, thanks to an FA competition.
Paul was the special surprise guest at TIBS annual prize giving event to present the club awards for Team of the Year, Manager of the Year and Player of the Year.
The visit was arranged by the FA after TIBS won a competition with its entry that emphasised the community focus of the club that has grown from strength to strength since its formation in 1997.
Paul began his footballing career at Arsenal, where he spent 11 seasons before moving to Middlesbrough where he was known to fans as “Magic Man”.
