WALK WILL HONOUR BORO LEGEND ALAN PEACOCK
A WALK to honour a Middlesbrough Football Club legend is set to take place next month.
Middlesbrough Football Club and MFC Foundation has announced The Alan Peacock Walk, a tribute to one of Teesside’s most cherished footballers and community champions.
The former Middlesbrough and Leeds United player died at the age of 87 in June after a battle with dementia.
The walk will take place on Sunday, September 14, beginning at 10am from the iconic Ayresome Park gates and finishing with a commemorative lap of honour around the Riverside Stadium pitch.
The event will raise vital funds for MFC Foundation and Dementia Action Teesside, while also offering the community a chance to walk in memory of loved ones.
The family-friendly walk is open to all, and the route is flat, wheelchair accessible and open to children and dogs.
Alan Peacock’s name is etched into Middlesbrough FC history.
Born in Middlesbrough in 1937, he rose through the club ranks to become a fan favourite and England international.
