Junction Foundation is Charity of the Year

A CHARITY that has supported young people in the Teesside area for more than three decades has been named North East Charity of the Year.

The Junction Foundation took the top prize at the 11th annual North East Charity Awards, which are organised by The Journal and The Gazette in partnership with wealth managers RBC Brewin Dolphin.

Services at The Junction include mental health and emotional well-being, youth employment support, specialist children’s transport and open access hubs.

In the last year it has helped almost 150,000 people and this year has worked with Amazon to develop a ‘multibank’ offering items that include clothes, hygiene packs and household goods to people in need.
