FIRED-UP MCGREE HAS POINT TO PROVE

AN emotional and fired up Riley McGree says he feels in a positive place once again as he looked ahead to the new season with real optimism after two years of injury hell at Middlesbrough.

The forward remains an integral player at Boro but has found his impact in the past two seasons limited by various different injuries.

Back fit this summer though, McGree says he is doing everything he can to ensure he is in the best possible condition ahead.

Fired up by the prospect of regular game time after his recent struggles, the Australian international - described as first one in and last one out at Rockliffe each day - is excited about the new season.

"There's definitely fire there," McGree told the club website.

"I've got a point to prove, I think for myself more than anything. Not just for myself though - it's for my teammates, for the fans, for everyone involved at the club.
