VIVEASH'S SPELL IN CHARGE FINISHES WITH 4-2 DEFEAT
ADI Viveash was left bitterly disappointed as his Middlesbrough interim reign ended with a cruel 4-2 victory to Coventry City.
Despite leading the club through a tumultuous period, which has been greatly appreciated by club officials and supporters alike, Viveash said after that he felt like he let the club down after the loss to his former side. It saw Coventry open up a ten-point gap over Boro at the top of the Championship.
Viveash, who will once again move to his assistant coach role under Kim Hellberg now, said: “I'm very grateful for the trust that was put in me. I feel like I've let people down tonight and that’s why I went round to supporters and put my hands up. I didn’t want it to end like this.
“Yes, it's a team I know very well with good players and supporters. Them singing my name at the end meant a great deal, there’s a mutual respect for a long period of working hard together.
“But I went round our fans because I wanted to say sorry really for tonight. I didn’t want it to be like that and I’m bitterly disappointed. I felt like it was there. So that will be something for me to think about and digest but it’s been a really interesting ten days.
“I’ve tried to steady it and carry it and create a bond with the staff that were at a pretty low ebb. I tried to build that back up and gave the players all I've got. Stood there tonight, it was a rollercoaster, that's what these ten days have been.
