Drug dealer hit chef with hammer as brawl erupted
The Gazette
|September 13, 2025
A DRUG-dealer hit a chef with a hammer and whistled to his friends for back up after accusing a takeaway delivery driver of assault.
The mass brawl broke out on William Street, Eston, on Sunday, April 25, which Cleveland Police previously said led to three people being taken to hospital.
Four men involved in the brawl - Kane Bradley, Chevez Le-Cheminant, Levi Le-Cheminant and Callum Riley - have all now been sentenced at Teesside Crown Court after admitting affray and a string of various other offences.
CCTV, which was played in court, showed the men attacking another group after Bradley, who was the first to use violence, whistled to his friends for backup.
As chaos broke out in the street, members of the public tried to intervene to stop the fighting, which began at around 6.50pm.
Paul Newcombe, prosecuting, said: “Bradley accused a delivery driver from a local takeaway of hitting his friend. The takeaway owner intervened. Bradley shook a hammer at him and whistled to his co-accused for help. Riley threatened staff from the shop. Bradley struck the chef with a hammer in the body. Levi Le-Cheminant punched aman in the face”
The court heard how the defendants then attacked a number of males.
