A DOUBLE arson probe has been launched after two devastating fires started within 30 minutes of each other.

Detectives from Cleveland Police are investigating a house fire in Millbank Lane, Thornaby, after fire crews were called to the scene at 10pm on January 18.

Less than 30 minutes later, fire crews were called to a car fire to the rear of the Old Thornaby Social Club, off Green Lane. Both fires are being treated as deliberate and detectives are investigating any links between the two incidents.
