Animal ban for woman who left dog starving

NEGLECTED PET WAS DISCOVERED IN FILTHY CONDITIONS

A WOMAN who left a dog starving in a dirty and cluttered back garden has been banned from keeping animals.

Chelsea Leigh Haw, 29, was visited by the RSPCA on July 13, 2024. Although there was no answer when the RSPCA officer knocked on the door, they could see the female tan and black Malinois-type dog named Star in the garden.

In a statement to the court, the officer said: “She was very thin, her ribs and hips were sticking out. I didn’t notice any food or water.”

When RSPCA ARO Ruth Thomas-Coxon, along with officers from Cleveland Police, attended Haw’s property at Melsonby Avenue the next day, on July 14, they found Star loose in a cluttered, dirty garden with no clean water and heavily soiled bedding.
