The Freeman
|November 25, 2025
Police Lieutenant Colonel Wildemar Tiu formally assumed office on Monday, November 24, as the new officer-in-charge of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit-7 (RHPU-7), following the retirement of Police Colonel Neil Francia.
-
Tiu received his designation order from Camp Crame on November 11, appointing him as Francia’s successor. Francia retired shortly after his birthday.
Before his new assignment, Tiu served as chief of police of the Tagum City Police Station in Davao del Norte.
In an interview, Tiu outlined his priorities for RHPU-7, emphasizing strict enforcement of Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code of 1964, in light of continued road safety concerns and persistent carnapping incidents in Central Visayas.
“Kanunay nato ipatuman ang road safety sa atong kalsada. I-enforce gyud nato ang balaod, particularly RA 4136, ug ang mga kinahanglan pahimangnoan, labi na sa mga carnapping cases,” Tiu told reporters.
