Passenger vessel runs aground, 506 passengers rescued

Over 500 passengers aboard a vessel from Bohol bound for Cagayan de Oro were rescued after the ship ran aground in shallow waters about 200 meters off Jagna Port on the night of April 19, 2025.

According to the report of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), they responded after a concerned citizen reported that MV Lite Ferry 5 drifted due to low tide while maneuvering to depart.
