Following a comprehensive facility inspection, officials of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) have assured the public that Cebu's airport operations and tourism activities remain fully functional and unaffected by the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck parts of Metro Cebu on September 30, 2025.

This was the assurance given by MCIA Chief Executive Officer Athanasios Titonis of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, who said that all facilities have been inspected and declared safe for use, emphasizing that flight operations continue as scheduled.

"We want to assure everyone that Cebu's airport operations at MCIA remain safe and fully functional. Our facilities have been thoroughly inspected and cleared, and flights continue as scheduled," said Titonis.

"Passenger safety is always our top priority, and we are committed to maintaining seamless travel for everyone flying to and from Cebu," he added.

In line with this, Titonis encouraged travelers to visit Cebu with confidence, underscoring that the island remains "safe, vibrant, and very much open for tourism."
