Mayor urges Cebuano youth: Engage in local film industry

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival is encouraging Cebuano youth to engage in the local film industry, declaring that creative expression through cinema should be promoted alongside sports and other youth development programs.

Archival made the statement the other day during a meeting with the Cebuano Cinema Development Council (CCDC), where he expressed support for initiatives aimed at strengthening Cebuano filmmaking and expanding youth participation in the arts.
The CCDC, led by its chairman Marlon Douglas Hofer, presented a list of upcoming programs to the mayor, including a citywide film showing contest among Sangguniang Kabataan representatives from the city’s 80 barangays.
