Mandaue SK returns vehicles to city gov't

All 15 vehicles previously donated to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) offices were returned to the Mandaue City Government earlier yesterday, October 13.

According to city administrator Gonzalo Malig-on, SK officials mutually agreed to revoke the ordinance that granted the vehicles.
Malig-on said Mayor Thadeo Jovito "Jonkie" Ouano requested SK Federation President Fleuritz Gayle Jumao-as to return the vehicles so that other city departments and offices in need of transportation could use them.
However, the SK Federation requested the mayor to place at least four of the 15 vehicles under the custody of the Mandaue City Youth Development Office (MCYDO). These vehicles will be available for use upon request by the 27 SK offices.
Malig-on said the mayor accepted the SK Federation's proposal.
"Mao na'y win-win formula, so nagkasabot si mayor ug ang SK," Malig-on said.
He added that the decision is a great development for city offices and departments, especially those that need vehicles for their operations.
