From 5:00 AM to 12:00 noon, several key roads will be closed temporarily to accommodate this internationally acclaimed endurance race, organized by Sunrise Events Philippines and presented by Megaworld’s The Mactan Newtown.
The IRONMAN 70.3 race begins with a 1.9-kilometer single-loop clockwise swim course at The Mactan Newtown Beach.
Athletes will start with a 100-meter swim, then turn left for 775 meters, followed by a right turn for 50 meters.
Another right leads them into an 825-meter stretch, before a final right turn for 150 meters back.
From there, participants will head to the transition area to begin the bike leg.
The 90-kilometer bike course consists of three loops starting from The Mactan Newtown.
Cyclists will head toward Mactan Newtown Boulevard, turning right onto M.L. Quezon National Highway and continuing south through Lapu-Lapu City into Cordova.
From there, they will enter the Gabi-Pilipog Circumferential Road and exit onto the CCLEX bridge.
The first turnaround point is at Kilometer 24 in Cebu City’s SRP.
