Hearings of case vs. Rama suspended

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has indefinitely suspended proceedings in the administrative complaint filed against former Cebu City mayor Michael Rama in connection with the leadership dispute at the Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD), following the submission of two motions from the respondent's legal counsel.

In an order dated October 20, the DILG Hearing Committee cancelled all scheduled hearings and placed the proceedings on hold "until the resolution of the said motions."
The case was called for the initial presentation of evidence, during which one of the complainants, MCWD General Manager Edgar Donoso appeared with legal counsel, while the water district's former chairman Jose Daluz failed to attend. Rama was represented by lawyers Hugh Hahn Heaven Nuñez and Joselito Thomas Baena.
