Garcia to appoint replacement for dismissed City Hall officials

Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia is set to appoint replacements for employees dismissed alongside former Mayor Michael Rama over a multimillion peso garbage deal.
This follows the recent decision of the Office of the Ombudsman to dismiss Rama, marking his second dismissal after a prior order related to a loan scam case.
The latest decision stemmed from a complaint filed by Jandel Bontuyan regarding three purchase orders (PO) for garbage collection and disposal services, which were allegedly awarded to favored companies: Jomara Konstructcurt Corp., ACM Hauling Services, and ARN Central Waste Management Inc.
Bontuyan claimed in his affidavit that these suppliers were chosen “without the benefit of competitive public bidding.”
