ERC-approved adjustments push transmission rates up
The Freeman
|August 14, 2025
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP) transmission charges have gone up following the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) approval of its Maximum Allowable Revenue (MAR) and Under-Recoveries (UR) for the years 2016 to 2022.
-
The increase, compounded by lower energy consumption between the June and July 2025 billing periods, will be reflected in consumer electric bills starting August 2025 through distribution utilities.
It added that transmission rates climbed from P0.4611/kWh in June 2025 to P0.5923/kWh in July, marking an increase of P0.1312/kWh.
