The Department of Education (DepEd) yesterday dismissed as “fake news” the claims circulating on social media that a Grade 13 will be added to the Senior High School curriculum starting the upcoming school year.

In an advisory posted on its official Facebook page, DepEd stated: “WARNING TO THE PUBLIC. Fake news is the Facebook post about the alleged additional Grade 13 in Senior High School for SY 2025-2026.”

“DepEd once again reminds the public to be cautious and analytical against misinformation,” the agency added.

The department also encouraged the public to refer only to its official social media platforms for verified announcements and information regarding basic education.
