CRYSNELLE'S FIRST 10KM RUN

It was half past two on a rainy and cold Sunday morning. Crysnelle joined her mother in the Run to Tops Event. She stood at the starting line of her first ever 10-kilometer run, holding tightly onto her mother's hand.

She prepared her running outfit days before the event. She wore her favorite pink running shoes and black skirt. Her race bib was securely attached to her singlet, even if the shirt was a little too big for her.

It flapped lightly in the early morning breeze. She couldn’t help but notice that despite the light rain, the air was filled with the scent of menthol rubs.

Her heart raced with excitement as the crowd counted down “Three, two, one!” The runners gushed forward like a river, which felt a little scary at first. Crysnelle trotted beside her mom, eyes wide with wonder. So many things seemed to be happening all at once.
