The Commission on Elections in Central Visayas (Comelec-7) has started receiving the initial batch of Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) in preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
-
Comelec-7 regional director Francisco Pobe confirmed that 758 ACMs have arrived and are stored in designated regional hubs in Bohol and Cebu.
Of the total delivered machines, 672 units have been received in Cebu Province, while 86 have arrived in Bohol, according to the latest tally from Comelec.
Pobe said that they have been informed by the provider that more shipments of ACMs will be arriving this week.
For Cebu, the machines are currently housed in a secure facility in Mandaue City, which is under round-the-clock surveillance by law enforcement authorities.
"Our hub is guarded 24/7 by the PNP Election Action Center," said Pobe.
