Cebu FC stays perfect at home
The Freeman
|March 25, 2026
The Cebu FC Gentle Giants kept their unbeaten home record intact after grinding out a 1-0 victory over Aguilas-UMak FC in the second round of the Philippines Football League (PFL) 2025-26 Season at the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex over the weekend.
It served as a strong response to Cebu FC's earlier draw with the defending champion Kaya FC-Iloilo, fulfilling the team's promise to bounce back and perform better.
The road to the Gentle Giants' fifth win in six games at their turf was far from easy though.
Both sides battled to a scoreless first half, with the Aguilas pressing hard and Cebu's starting goalkeeper Joseph Kei Ceniza forced into action.
Disaster struck in the 57th minute when Ceniza suffered a bad fall while stretching to save an attempt. He was unable to continue and was replaced by Jessie Semblante.
