Capitol: Mobile kitchen had via emergency means

The Cebu Provincial Government clarified that the mobile kitchen launched on October 14 was procured through emergency means and not part of the P24-million regular vehicle procurement that is still set for bidding on October 27.

Provincial administrator Ace Durano issued the clarification following an online post questioning how the vehicles showcased during the launch were obtained ahead of the scheduled bidding.

The post, made by Sam Costanilla, a former employee at the Capitol in the time of former Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, claimed that public documents revealed the bidding for the P24-million vehicle procurement was yet to take place.

Costanilla’s Al-generated post raised questions about whether the supplier had been pre-identified prior to the bidding process.
