After Sinulog, back to protests and rallies

The Christmas and New Year holidays are over.

The Sinulog celebration is done. The Filipinos can no longer be distracted from their freedom of expression by merriment and celebration. The people should now go back to the freedom parks and street parliaments. The voice of the people should be heard again.

The people should protest against the pork barrels that are still embedded into the pages of the signed General Appropriation Act. The poor should complain against the callousness of congressmen, senators, and executive officials who continue to collect hundreds of thousands in salaries, bonuses and perks, travelling privileges and confidential funds while workers are even cheated of their minimum wages and subjected to dirty, difficult, and dangerous tasks like the people who died in the Binaliw landfill and those who died during at the height of typhoons and forced to butcher chickens despite the cancellation of work by the government.
